What to Expect during the first visit
New patient visits takes approximately 30-45 minutes and include an extensive review of medical history, physical examination, osteopathic structural examination and treatment. Each treatment is distinct. Mr. David has a unique approach that is obtained by training with many successful and innovative practitioners in the field of manual Osteopathy. The treatment begins with an examination and analysis of your whole body, including the problem areas. Based on that information, Mr. David then tailors the treatment to each individual from visit to visit. Please note that none of the treatment should be painful so please let Mr. David know if you experience pain.
The treatments themselves may involve palpation, stretching, quick movements, light touch or heavy pressure over specific areas that can be anywhere throughout the body. If you would like more information about each therapeutic modality, then click > here or visit the Q & A page.
Also from time to time, the clinic manager, medical physician or medical student will come through the office and may be present during the treatment with your consent.
Call the office for our current fees. We accept cash, check, debit or credit card.
Each patient is responsible for all charges incurred during each visit. Other arrangements for payment need to be made with the office prior to the first visit. It is strongly suggested that you do an insurance eligibility check prior to your first visit to understand the coverage of your insurance company. Please click here or visit the Q & A page of the website for more information.
What should I wear during treatment?
Although there is no dress code during treatment, it would be advisable to wear loose comfortable clothing. However, many people come from work and a change of clothes is not required. Occasionally, women will wear skirts and in this case, we do recommend bringing a pair of shorts or other more appropriate clothes to change into. If this is not possible, we do have a blanket to cover a patient to maximize patients comfort and privacy.
How long are appointments?
New patient initial visits will take approximately 30-45 minutes and include an extensive review of medical history, physical examination, osteopathic structural examination and treatment. Follow up visits are at least 30 minutes and involve an appropriate examination and treatment.
Important Note:
Manual Osteopaths do not ordinarily need a referral from a family physician, however, due to high demand priority will be given to patients referred by family physicians to facilitate access of diagnostic records.
